2011 Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellows: Africa 2025 - The Basket Case Scenario

The scenarios were developed using Clem Sunters scenario development tools. The particular instruction for this group was: looking ahead to 2025, develop scenarios around the major external actors that will play a role in Africa. The group decided that environmental policies and foreign trade policies were the two most critical uncertainties and therefore developed a best case/worst case scenario around these. The group was comprised of individuals from South Africa (Bridgit Evans, Nomfanelo Magwentshu & Expect Ntsepe), Senegal (Momar Dieng), Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kayeye Cedric Ntumba), Kenya (Bridget Wachira), Ivory Coast (Eric Kacou), Rwanda (Jean-Philippe Kabayotsi) and Uganda (Victor Ochen).
