Rio Tinto's Mine of the Future™ programme will introduce a fleet of new driverless trucks and remote controlled equipment where current site based employees will, in the future, be based in a city thousands of kilometres away. Working from our state-of-the-art Operations Centre in Perth, employees will work like air traffic controllers where they will supervise automated drills, loaders and haul trucks across our Pilbara sites.
